We can't wait for you to join us as we celebrate the next Annual Circle K Golf Tournament on July 18, 2024.Congratulations to our 2024 Tournament winners: Team 2B - David C, Mack W, Jordan C and Morrissy D
Over the years we have shared many adventures together and every year they get better and better….
We’ve visited tropical destinations, explored the glitz and glam of Hollywood, felt the nostalgia of decades past and even taken a trip under the sea. Together we’ve traveled through time and space supporting charities in the communities that we work and live in. This page is dedicated to our favourite memories from tournaments past.
In 2023 we celebrated our 40th tournament with the magic of an Arabian night.
In 2022 we followed the white rabbit into Wonderland.
In 2021 we celebrated the Great Outdoors in our fall tournament.
In 2020, amidst a worldwide pandemic, we made the tough decision to postpose our annual tournament as one of our many efforts to slow the spread and keep everyone safe.
In 2019 there was no place like home as we visited the Emerald City of Oz. It was determined that the best way to navigate Oz was by building the longest yellow brick road. To help us with this task the golfers were asked to collect yellow bricks to build the longest road segment they could while navigating their way around the course. This ended abruptly when a Wizard of Oz themed storm rolled in cutting the game short. There was much speculation on whether the storm was ordered to add some authenticity to our tournament.
In 2018 we put on our best poker faces and, with Elvis and some showgirls by our side, we tried our luck with our very own “Vegas” themed tournament. Our game tradition returned with golfers collecting playing cards throughout the day to make the best poker hand. The golf course staff had the opportunity to participate in the game by hiding cards around the course for our golfers to find.
In 2017 we let the good times roll with our very own “Mardi Gras” inspired tournament. This tournament marked the beginning of a new game tradition. Golfers were asked to collect beads throughout the day for their very own bead tree in hopes of having enough to claim a prize at the end of the day. The game was so well received that even the beads used in our decorations were claimed by the golfers while a brass band played in the background.
In 2016 we invited you to run away with us to join the “Circus” and what a circus it was! The weather cooperated with us and all our Carnies enjoyed a beautiful day, both on the course and under the big top! Entertained by a roaming band of misfit performers, and our own bearded lady at your service, this tournament was truly one of the greatest shows on Earth!
2015 marked a new era for our not so little tournament. A course change brought us new challenges and new opportunities. With our expectations set high, not even a dangerous storm could stop us as we braved the choppy waters to dive in with pirates and sea creatures to create an authentic “Under the Sea” experience. We even had a select few brave enough to jump on board for the authentic walk the plank dunk tank experience.
Our 2014 tournament was more like a Hollywood movie than we thought it would be when we first set the theme. With a little “help” from Mother Nature our 32nd Annual tournament required a second take. A wicked storm with fierce winds the night before the tournament made quite a mess of the course. While the course did everything they could to get us up and running, a downed power line meant we could not golf. With everyone there we opted to continue with the portions of the program we could and postponed the rest of the tournament until the fall.
On June 19, 2013 the worst flood in Alberta’s history devastated areas along the Bow River including the golf course our tournament was to be held at. Not many golf courses have banquet facilities large enough to host our tournament so finding an alternate course on short notice was no easy task. With some luck and a lot of help our 31st Annual tournament traveled to a Hawaiian paradise with only a slight layover delaying our tee time from morning to afternoon.
2012 was a year of anniversaries. Our not so little tournament turned 30 and Mac’s turned 50 so we celebrated.
